From Then Till Now
Mark has always been a fan of radio whether it’s listening to it or being on it. You might have heard Mark on campus radio WELH in Eastern Illinois University from 1979 – 1982. But probably not. When Mark retired in 2017 from his real job, it was about the same time a local radio station was starting up. Mark noticed in the local paper that the fledgling station was looking for programming ideas. Let The Good Times Roll was pitched, accepted and debuted on January 5, 2019. Who knew that this former accountant with a love for music and radio could fall into his own international radio show upon retirement?
In 2023 a radio station owner in New Zealand discovered the archives of Mark’s radio show on the Internet. He emailed Mark to ask for permission to carry new episodes of Let The Good Times Roll on his station. Through this person’s contacts in New Zealand radio, the show now appears on several other stations in that country. The show reach has also expanded to include stations in Australia, the UK, and additional stations in the US too!
